AED has been a leader Internationally and Nationally in providing services and education to confront the challenges of HIV/AIDS.
InternationalAED has found that multi-sectoral approaches offer the best opportunities to link prevention to treatment of HIV/AIDS. Working with governments, employers, unions, and communities, AED operates programs in 25 countries; providing care for orphans and vulnerable children, promoting nutrition care and support, helping to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV and reduce transmission through workplace prevention and education.U.S.A key partner with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in implementing HIV community prevention planning in all 50 states since 1997. AED is training public health departments on evidence-based prevention interventions and is fostering innovative approaches for combating HIV/AIDS-related stigma and for involving HIV-infected individuals in prevention
